Glarner Waldperlen / Haggenwald
The app 'Glarner Waldperlen' leads to the most beautiful and wildest forests of the canton of Glarus. The app shows how to get there and on-site, GPS provides stories, games, and information. Each forest pearl becomes an experience for young and old with the app. Like here towards Franzenhorn.
In an undeveloped, dreamlike side valley of the Linth lies the Haaggenwald forest reserve. The bubbling Übelbach, the richly interlaced forest edge, and the patches of green alder bush forest create a varied landscape. In addition, the forest reserve contains a protected forest community, the block debris fir-spruce forest. This hosts specialized animals such as the three-toed woodpecker and the crossbill.
Experience the forest reserve
The forest reserve can be explored on foot from Diesbach-Betschwanden station in eight hours. The path leads through the forest reserve to the mountain station of the Kies-Mettmen cable car. An alternative is the two-day hike via Leglerhütte (overnight stay possible). Descent the following day to the mountain station of the Kies-Mettmen cable car. The path is usually passable between June and October.
