Glarner Waldperlen / Gäsi-Rieterwald

The app 'Glarner Waldperlen' leads to the most beautiful and wildest forests of the canton of Glarus. The app shows how to get there and provides stories, games, and information on site via GPS. Each forest pearl becomes an experience for young and old with the app. Like here along the Linth Escher canal.

Since these forests are left to themselves, they are called a natural forest reserve. Along the Escher canal and Lake Walen, floodplain forests grow. These are partly managed so that a species-rich floodplain forest can grow again. Here is the special forest reserve.

Experience the forest reserve

The Gäsi-Rieterwald forest reserve can be easily reached from Näfels-Mollis train station. A hiking trail leads from there in two hours to Lake Walen. The bus stop in Weesen is a half-hour walk through the Hüttenböschen nature reserve away.

Further information

The app 'Glarner Waldperlen' guides informatively and playfully through the forest reserve.
