Glarner Bienenhonig

Glarus honey is an incomparable natural product, which is produced by the honey bee through the nectar of flowers and plants.
Of all the types of honey, the honey from the mountain areas is the one with the highest vitamin C content and is therefore so healthy. The Glarus beekeepers cultivate their colonies with a lot of heart and soul and dedication - we think you can taste it!
Glarus Bee Friends Association
The GLARUS BEE FRIENDS ASSOCIATION was founded as early as 1882. Since then, the association has done everything in its power to promote beekeeping in our canton. They are still a very active association today, supporting beekeepers and providing training and further education opportunities for active beekeepers and young beekeepers.
Bee nature trail
The path lies between Netstal and Näfels at the foot of the Wiggis along the Altiger into the Mettlen. 14 large display boards provide information about honey bees and beekeeping. In the first part, you learn a lot about the bee colony, the way of life of honey bees and the annual rhythm in the colony. The second part deals with beeswax, bee language and pollination. The third part provides information about bee diseases and bee products, especially honey.
Guidances
Individually, as desired and tailored to the target audience, e.g. also with a quiz.
The tours are just as suitable for families, small groups, club outings and company events as they are for school classes. Duration between 1.5 and 2 hours, through varied landscape.
The nature trail ends at the association's own apiary in Mettlen, where the apiary can also be visited if desired and there is the opportunity to taste honey.
