Braunwald lies high up on a terrace. The only connection to the car-free excursion and holiday resort is the funicular from Linthal. To ensure that luggage transport runs smoothly, we will be happy to give you some information and tips. So car-free is guaranteed to be an advantage!
Free transport for prams, wheelchairs and bikes
The Linthal - Braunwald funicular and the Grotzenbüel gondola lift are suitable for prams and wheelchairs. Bikes are also transported free of charge on the funicular and on the Grotzenbüel gondola lift. In Linthal there is a ramp from the SBB platform and a lifting platform to the funicular. Please contact the staff, they will be happy to help you. We also have a wheelchair toilet at the mountain station in Braunwald.
Luggage handling for those arriving by car
Hand over your luggage (addressed with home and holiday address) to the staff at the baggage counter, where it will be registered for onward transport. Luggage wheelchairs are available for baggage handling.
You can have luggage transported to Linthal free of charge. To do this, simply hand it over, marked with your home address, to the railway staff in the Braunwald shed and move back into it in Linthal. Your baggage can be checked in by passenger cargo in Switzerland and abroad directly to Braunwald and back. Labels and customs declarations are available at the train station and at the baggage counter in Braunwald.
Hotel guests
Please attach the completed labels sent by your hotel to your luggage. If you have not received one, please request one at the baggage counter in Linthal. The addressed luggage will then be transported directly to your accommodation (sometimes for a fee).
