Forest reserve Mürtschental

Arvenwald - The Mürtschental forest reserve is dominated by the Swiss stone pine.

The Swiss stone pine is resistant and durable and defies the harsh mountain climate up to the tree line. There are Swiss stone pines that are hundreds of years old. With their gnarled, thick trunk, they are impressive tree monuments. Together with spruce, mountain pine and rowanberry, the Swiss stone pine forms the forest in the upper Mürtschental.

Experience the forest reserve

Good starting points for a visit to the Mürtschental forest reserve are the Talalpsee and the Murgtal. Hikes lasting several hours lead from there around the Mürtschenstock or over the Gsponwald into the Mürtschental. The trails are usually accessible between June and October.
