Förderverein Welterbe & Geopark Sardona

Museums, geologically guided boat trips, guided tours of mines and fortresses, company tours of above- and below-ground quarries, stone processing plants, large hydroelectric power plants or an international tunnelling research facility complete the diverse offer: an ideal complement to your visit to the Sardona Tectonic Arena. The Geopark Sardona is organized by an association of the same name. This was founded in 1999 with the purpose of promoting the areas of geology, underground construction, mining and rock processing as well as to promote the strengthening of adventure and educational tourism in the Glarus - Walensee - Sarganserland - Graubünden Rhine Valley - Surselva area. The Geopark Sardona association sees itself as a networking link between the more than 50 geo-sites that have now been established. Every year, in the run-up to the summer season, the richly illustrated brochure Geopark Information is published. For the care and guidance of interested guests, so-called 'GeoGuides' are arranged. www.geopark.ch/
