Flysch Layering

Layers here tell stories several million years old!
The flysch rocks with their almost horizontal layers are clearly visible. Most of them are sandstones and shales, which were deposited layer by layer during the Triassic period. Later, they were run over underground across several kilometres of the Glarus Thrust by Helvetic blankets.
