Climbing garden Widerstein

Versatile climbing garden in the oldest wildlife reserve in Europe - the Freiberg Kärpf

The "Widerstein" climbing garden in Mettmen is one of the most beautifully situated climbing gardens in Eastern Switzerland. On the house-sized boulders in the middle of the Freiberg Kärpf you will find climbing routes from 1st to 9th degree of difficulty. The climbing garden is located 300m above the Garichtis reservoir with a view of the lake and the Glarus Alps. There is the possibility to climb sunny or shady routes all day long.

The surroundings of the blocks are flat and harmless. There is a small stream to cool off.

Please note: Camping is prohibited because you are staying in the wildlife reserve. However, in the immediate vicinity is the Naturfründehuus Mettmen or the Berghotel Mettmen.
