Cheese Pass - Alp Ramin
Ramin lies impressively beneath the massive rock walls of Chli and Gross Schiben, protected by the mighty Piz Sardona in Elm.
The path to Alp Ramin leads from Elm Töniberg via Raminer Stäfeli and the Raminerwald to Mittelstafel and further to Stafel Raminer Matt, where the Käsepass box is located near the hut. It is a rustic world up here; the Ruth Marti family from Schänis – "I am from Elm but born and raised here" – manages the major cheese alp with her team. The further hiking trail impressively leads over the Foopass and into the Weisstannental.
The most beautiful hikes to Alp Ramin:
• Via Elm / Töniberg to Raminer Matt (the Käsepass box can be found at Stafel Raminer Matt)
• Those who want to go further take the hiking trail via Foopass to the Weisstannental (long distance / overnight stay in the Weisstannental should be reserved in advance). The Alpbeizli Raminer Matt is open on beautiful weekends.
