Adler Bräu has been family-owned since 1828 and is now run by the fifth generation. The company has always kept up with the times and met the latest technical requirements.

Tradition and contemporary technology in harmony – with this guiding principle, the Adler Brewery has managed to survive today as the only brewery in the Glarus region.
Tradition
The Adler brewery in Schwanden was built and founded in 1828 by the so-called major, councillor, envoy and Adler landlord Fridolin Tschudi. In 1885, Gustav Kauth from Lucerne took over the business and in the same year Paulus Kundert also joined the company as a partner. More than 100 years ago, the first member of the Kundert family wrote family history at the Adler brewery.

Beers
We brew our beers with a lot of love, passion and only with the very best raw materials. The high-quality Glarus water, mixed with the best hops from the Hallertau and barley malt, gives the Adler beer its unmistakable taste. Our classic beer assortment is complemented by unique beer specialties.
Legendary beers
Under the label "Saagehafts usem Glarnerland", Adler Bräu has created a new product line. The cult 29 cl bottles are named after Glarus legends, which, just like Adler Bräu, have always been firmly rooted in the canton of Glarus. The result is extraordinary pearls of the art of brewing that cleverly complement the Adler Brewery's product range.
Whisky
Whisky is also called the water of life. Arnauld de Villeneuve, the famous physician of the kings of Aragon, said of him: "It prolongs life, dispels bad moods, rejuvenates heart and man." Maybe that's why we also distill whisky at the Adler brewery. But maybe also because we just like him.
