Not quite as long as the art of printing has existed, but at least since 1853 the Baeschlin bookstore has existed as a family business in Glarus. This is also our recipe for success: every customer complaint is a gift for us, and each generation vouches with its name that the concerns of our customers are taken seriously. Only in this way is it possible for a medium-sized country bookstore to have a justification even in the age of gigantic chain stores and electronic media.

Our strengths

individual and competent advice, even with demanding customer requests, a wide range of products from non-fiction to youth books to fiction, a versatile selection of compact discs, whereby we only have CDs in stock, especially for children, which are recommended by teachers and psychologists, everything that has to do with the canton of Glarus and its surrounding region. One third of our customers come from all regions of Switzerland. They have been loyal to us for years and appreciate our competent service and our favorable delivery conditions.
