Bächi Bike

From Linthal, via the traffic-free mountain village of Braunwald with its alpine huts scattered across the sun-drenched slopes, the route goes up to Oberblegi Lake at the foot of the Glärnisch. The legendary lake with no visible outlet is one of the most attractive mountain lakes in Switzerland.

Here you can enjoy the untouched nature and the fresh mountain air extensively. In addition, there are wonderful views as far as breath and eye can see. The bike route offers masterable descents, leisurely scooter routes along the Linth, the Klausen Pass road and its myth as well as excellent guest service in the restaurants.

Route

From Linthal, the route starts directly with an asphalt road that climbs up to 20% to Alp Frittern. Via the gravel road you reach with a strenuous drive up to 1599 m above sea level. M. the highest point of the route. A steep descent leads to the Nussbüel restaurant. From Nussbüel to Braunwald, the path leads through green forests, past old farmhouses and this with a view of Ortstock and Tödi. The route leads through the scattered village of Braunwald to the Bruwaldalp, past blooming summer meadows and alpine shepherds. You can quench your thirst in the Bächibeizli and try another piece of fresh alpine cheese. On the steep, but well-developed mountain road you can now enjoy a rapid descent or you can make a detour to the mystical Oberblegisee. With a constant view of the valley floor, it goes through forests via Leuggelen and Schwändi to Schwanden. The route can also be shortened: Take the funicular from Linthal to Braunwald or the Brunnenbergbahn to Luchsingen.
