AlpenLernen des SAC

Swap the classroom for the mountains for once? The SAC makes it possible! Over the course of five days, the students immerse themselves in the world of mountain sports, learn how the Alpine region can be used and protected at the same time, and discover the alpine region together with a mountain guide. They eat and sleep in an SAC hut.

The focus of the AlpenLernen project week is on education for sustainable development. What does nature-friendly mountain sports mean? What natural hazards lurk in the mountains? What does everyday life in an SAC hut look like? The students will explore these and other questions during the camp week in an SAC hut.
You will get to know the world of mountain sports, experience the alpine flora and fauna on site and discover the region together with a mountain guide.

The project week is based on the concept of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) with the aim of expanding the social, personal and methodological skills of the school children, making the versatile learning and adventure world of an impressive cultural and natural landscape accessible and arousing interest in sporting activities in alpine terrain. A wide range of teaching materials is available for the project week.
The project week is suitable for pupils from the 6th grade onwards and is offered in selected SAC huts.

The AlpenLernen project weeks are carried out in cooperation with the two UNESCO World Heritage Sites of the Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch and Tectonic Arena Sardona. The SAC coordinates the offers and is the point of contact for interested teachers.
