Currently, a metre-high construction crane, a yellow dump truck and a red excavator are marring the otherwise idyllic Berghotel Bischofalp. Construction work on the hotel extension has been in full swing since the beginning of April. Nine additional rooms, a new breakfast room and a small wellness area with sauna and relaxation room will offer our future guests even more comfort. But there is still a lot to do before that happens.
Some hotels close their doors during renovations. Although this is not always easy from a logistical point of view, we have consciously decided against it, because the construction work provides exciting views in and out of the hotel. We continue to serve our guests with delicious food and refreshing drinks from 09.00 to 16.30 every day. This summer is not quite as quiet as usual and our panoramic terrace is a little smaller due to the construction work – but you can experience something unique and even take on the role of a member of the construction crew. The oversized photo frame in front of the hotel was sponsored by the Marti AG company from Matt. The people in charge were enthusiastic about the idea of using the construction site as a marketing tool from the very beginning and thus transforming the negative image of dust and construction noise into a positive experience.
Next to the photo frame is a large aluminium box containing various props related to construction. Whether it’s a helmet or a high-visibility vest, a Pamir or safety goggles, there’s something for everyone. Funny slogans to hold up for the photos complete the experience, making each photo a unique one. ‘We hope that this campaign will minimise the inhibitions people have about consuming something on a construction site and thus attract the odd curious visitor. Perhaps we can even win them over as future guests,’ says Silvia Hefti, managing director of Berghotel Bischofalp, with a wink.
The photo should be posted with the hashtag #AusbauBischofalp to enter the draw for an overnight stay in the new hotel.
