Braunwald’s Fairy Tale Week Delights Young and Old Alike
The Family Day on Sunday, 26 July 2026, marked the highlight of this year’s fairy tale week in Braunwald. Families enjoyed a rich buffet at the Märchenbrunch in the Chämistube before the afternoon’s magic show by Zaubersocken, which left many faces in awe and brought a lot of laughter.
Fairy tale characters, stories and unforgettable encounters
Throughout the week, the village was filled with a magical atmosphere. The lovingly costumed fairy tale characters greeted guests from the windows along the Dorfstrasse every day and then paraded through Braunwald, where they caused surprise moments in hotels and restaurants. The numerous other programme items also attracted great interest. The llama trekking, the fairy tale sessions at the Hüttenberg farm, the fairy tale hike to Nussbüel with Beatrix Künzli and the scenic walks through the Emil Brunner exhibition with actor Gian Rupf offered varied experiences for young and old alike.
The colourful fairy tale parade through the village also brought many smiling faces, and the traditional Mächentag (fairy tale day) of the Bruuwalder Spiellüt (Braunwald Players) on Sunday marked the usual grand finale of the fairy tale week.
