Landsgemeinde Flohmarkt

On the Saturday in front of the Landsgemeinde, the big flea market traditionally takes place in the heart of Glarus.
This year, too, there will be over 150 stall operators between Spielhof and Gemeindehausplatz, offering flea market items for young and old. As always, participation is free of charge for children.
The event enjoys great popularity and has become one of the largest markets in the region. The stalls run in the middle of the street through the smallest capital, so that you can browse for flea market items to your heart's content. For the children, free space was left at the town hall square, at the courthouse, in front of the state library and around the city fountain. The places are marked and still free of charge for the children. For the market traders and children, there is the possibility to move into their reserved stalls and places from 7 a.m. onwards.
In addition, the flea market has some additional attractions this year. The fresh produce market and some charitable associations are built into the colourful hustle and bustle and are integrated into market life on the town hall square. In addition to the many pubs and food stalls, street musicians provide entertainment. For the very young, there is also a children's train on the city square. The adjacent shops will also be involved: For example, Glarus Service's member shops on Kantonsstrasse will have the opportunity to present their product range on the pavement.
For children, the event and participation in the reserved children's seats is free of charge (the places for children can be found in the map overview). Adults without a reservation can also take part in the event, places are visible on the map - running meters cost 15,--. The fee is collected at the flea market itself.
