New date for the Klausenrennen Revival scheduled for 2027

The Klausenrennen Revival is scheduled to take place from 24 to 26 September 2027 and not in 2026 as previously planned. This decision was made to ensure the best conditions for a successful and reliable event. The organisational preparations are complete, but have taken longer than planned. The Klausenrennen Association, which will be responsible for the event, was founded in Glarus and the Organising Committee is starting to implement the plans.

Reliability as the top priority

The top priority of the two initiators, Christian Walti and Alexander Roosdorp, is to ensure that the Klausen Revival is a reliable and high-quality event. To achieve this goal, the initiators have decided to postpone the event by one year in close consultation with the organising committee. The extra time gained will ensure that the event can be implemented on a solid organisational, financial and personnel basis.

Work continues as planned

The Klausenrennen Association has submitted a new application to the councils of the cantons of Glarus and Uri for a basic permit for the new proposed date of the event. All other work, such as the preparation of detailed plans, the invitation to participants or the acquisition of further sponsorship partners and patrons, is continuing unabated.

Great interest from Switzerland and abroad

The enthusiastic response from the classic car scene is particularly pleasing. Numerous drivers from Switzerland and abroad have already expressed their firm intention to take part in the Klausen Revival. Some of them also want to support the event with a patronage contribution. The Klausenrennen Association has recently set up a patronage club, and new members are very welcome.

Organisational

The Klausenrennen Association is responsible for the organisation of the Klausenrennen Revival and has set up an Organising Committee (OK) for this purpose. The Association was founded on 20 June 2025 and is registered in the commercial register of Glarus. The Association’s President is Christian Walti. The key positions in the OK are held by Alexander Roosdorp (OK President, Project Manager for the departments of Race Organisation, Partnerships and Marketing), Luca Tinner and Martin Huber from gl-events GmbH (Project Manager for the departments of Construction, Infrastructure, Safety, Traffic and Operations).
