Together with the Glarnerland Visitor Centre, the two sites in Glarus (the Nature Centre, Railway Station Building) and Elm ( Old Schoolhouse, Sandgasse 1, Elm) form an innovative centre for the future of the Sardona World Heritage Site and the Glarnerland.
The Glarus site forms the hub between the World Heritage, ecology, visitor guidance with tourist information and regional development. Elm is the place to delve deeper into the issues of geology aided by World Heritage and apps such as the GeoGuide.
The Elm Visitor Centre in the old schoolhouse offers in-depth insights into the formation of the Glarus Thrust (known also as the “magic line”) via seven stations. Playfully experience the upside down mountains and explore the rocks under a magnifying glass.
